Coronavirus fears hammer markets - how far will it go?

Yeah sometimes it's easy, sometimes very difficult/painful. We go from worst day to best day in no time.

Less than a week. Not sure that's a good sign.

I was talking to a buddy who's a logistics coordinator for FEMA & he was telling me the numbers that they have are not the same numbers being fed to the public.

Also yeah all the numbers reported can't be accurate.
Maybe the consolation this week is it's not free falling. Still have some positive days.
Today is down maybe because of the supply chain news (iphone) plus all the new virus/people news.
Costco will have a sales report this afternoon after market close... something to watch (didn't say buy or sell, just watch only)

The grocery stores are getting hammered with preppers. I'm seeing this first hand because I work for Kroger. In 17 years I've never seen anything like this outside of back to back inclimate weather scares. I was told to pad the order with extra stuff that are hot sellers so we don't run out to add to a truck that's already way too big for us to handle because of short staffing. I figure people will either get fully prepped eventually or run out of money.

I've always wanted to stand at the podium at the NYSE and scream "The sky is falling!", just to see what it does to the market.

She's not taking into account that 80% of people that will get covid-19 will have mild symptons and just stay home for a few days like the common cold. 20% will be more severe (mostly elderly) and half of those will not require hospitalization

I know nobody who stays home with a cold. Big symptoms yeah, but a cold? Naw man, they come to work.

ok cool so a lot of people will be apart of the 80%. No different than what you already deal with at work or when you go to walmart

I've noticed more traffic at work than ever before. We run dozens of conference rooms. Nobody's stealing the hand sanitizer yet.

Good because the media is making everyone panic for no good reason as of yet. You should be much more worried about other things that are running free in society like the flu etc

K, fair enough, but we need to learn a lesson from this. We are not prepared for big shit.

Sure, except we have a vaccine for the Flu so the most vulnerable are protected or can be.

Blame the Chinese dude. We had nothing to do with this bullshit

Iran says this is a US construct dropped into the middle of China to hurt them for the trade imbalance. lol

Either way, wash your hands, people, it's not Captain Tripps.
