Coronavirus fears hammer markets - how far will it go?

I work in IT for a Fortune 100 company and we're knee deep in figuring out how to shut down our buildings but stay operational. We've been stress testing the VPN, beefing up the videoconferencing back end & trying to figure out who's going to be considered essential. We've cancelled all of our large events & even smaller meetings for the foreseeable future. I can only assume other large companies are doing the same. If this thing doesn't slow down, this is only the beginning.
This sort of response will slow it down massively.

Good speech. However all the newswires only want to report the 1 month ban on euro travelers to here (excluding UK) because he said the unrestricted Euro people brought it here. So the US futures is crashing now.
(Getting ready to lose another new car 5 seconds after the market opens tomorrow.)
You won't lose anything if you don't sell while the market is down, now is the time for buying, and patience.

Yeah, not sure I'd be selling at this point. Not so sure I'd be buying either though. Ima let this thing find bottom first. If history holds true, this won't be a rapid recovery. If it is, well, I'm okay with that.

Seriously though - why horde toilet paper? There's not a square to spare in this whole city.

I guess it could be worse - there's still plenty of food on the shelves. Really hope that doesn't change.

I'd be more worried about the gators in pine bluff. I stepped on one at the pine bluff arsenal when I was bank fishing one of the lakes there. Never thought I'd see gators in Arkansas

Yeah they're south of here but never seen or heard of them being north of the southern third of the state. Saw my first gator in the wild several years ago when we were putting the boat in Milwood in SW Arkansas (damn near to Texas). No telling how many we got close to chilling in the thick grass while fishing.

I don't get that either, it's like they heard one of the symptoms of CoVid19 is severe diarrhea, it isn't.

I guess they think all toilet paper comes from China, and they fear there's going to be a long term shortage of shit tickets

Great timing.... My wife flew down to North Carolina yesterday to visit a childhood friend and go to a Hurricanes vs. Penguins hockey game with her (we're from Pittsburgh originally). Between the time she left yesterday and today, they "postponed" all of the NHL games because of the Coronavirus. <sigh> The entire country is going crazy over this. They even cancelled my sons school for today because a "spouse of an employee" at one of the schools in the district came into contact with someone that has a confirmed case of it. So they closed EVERY school in the district in order for ALL of the schools to undergo an "intensive deep cleaning" today and over the weekend.

Stocking up on toilet paper?!?!?! WTF?

Oh well, at least the airline ticket was cheap (she kept waiting to reserve it and the price went down drastically from when she was originally going to book it).

Where in NC do they live? Somewhere near Raleigh but do you know a town name?

That's real barbecue country.
It figures... I *love* good barbecue! She's already raved about some pizza place they went to (I LOVE pizza even more than barbecue!). I'm started to get jealous....

It does suck that they weren't able to go to the hockey game that they had plans and tickets for, but what can you do. At least shes still having a good time.

Please find out the name of the pizza place and pass it on. I need good pizza in my life.
