Balance

When I set my balance to the rear of the car only my front speakers play.
When I set my balance to the front or middle of my car all my speakers play including the rear.
Any thoughts?

What info would help?

2 posts because multiple times I've posted in one area that I thought was correct and got zero responses, then I posted in a different area and my post got many replies. So in the interest of getting the best and most feedback I post wherever I think the thread is applicable.

Well, what is powering the speakers? What kind of headunit? It almost sounds like the front speakers are on a non-fading output and the rear speakers are hooked to the front output.

KICKER 47KSC6504 6.5 Inch passenger pannel
REF-9632IX 6x9- rear deck
audio dynamics 6x9 components front door
AudioControl LC-6.1200
Rockford fosgate 500x1d (2 10s)
Rockford Fosgate Prime R2-2X10

I guess the factory headunit is the source. Without actually seeing any part of it, the first thing I’d look at is the Sum/Separate switches on the amplifier to make sure they are set properly.

When you fade it to rear, does only the front play? If so, I'd say you just have it wired backwards

The shop that did the installation caused the issues. Even I'm not dumb enough to do that lol

Yes the front plays when faded to the rear.

I don't trust the shop anymore. Definitely not taking my car back to them.

Well, without knowing exactly how they wired it, we would all just be guessing.

What you probably need to do is rip all the wiring out and re-do it correctly. Who knows what they messed up and where. It will probably end up being faster starting over with the wiring anyway.

On the amp, swapping the front (1/2) outputs with the rear (3/4) should fix it (and vice versa)

...assuming there's nothing else amiss

Make sure the power is off while making the change. Hot-swapping them could cause issues

That won't just change it so the fronts no longer work properly?

When faded to the rear, only the front speakers play and when faded to the front or middle, all of the speakers play. Is this correct? What is the source and how are the input switches on the amp set?

Swapping RCAs is an easy test...it either fixes it, or it doesn't. If it doesn't fix it, put it back the way it was and move on to another troubleshooting step.
