how nice of you to ask...3 months ago...it's almost like it's taken a decade to get to this point

in may I got the 3" in the dash, had to modify some tweeter adapters cause strangely no one makes adapters for mids for the LX cars (at least from what I can find)

only took these pics but they are clamped between the adapters and the dash so the bezel can go back on, not the cleanest work with the holesaw but it works. they are connected to the rear channels on the HU with a 300hz "bass blocker" inline

and a few months back I found something very rare and hard to get for these cars. The 10" MTX Thunderform enclosure. it was in sandstone and kinda rough but you can't be too picky but after some searching I found SEM makes a paint that is a dead nuts match for the Med Slate Grey in my RT

and here it is fully reassembled with my 10" Nakabaric W104S

I still have the SS R1-15 and it is going to go in at some point I just needed to get an an enclosure that I could use so I stopped having an excuse to drag this build out another decade.

now I just need to finish the sail panels for the tweeters and then start the amp rack

it was until 6 months ago finally convinced the wife that we needed a beater so I could work on her (needs suspension work, some cosmetic, an of course audio) so that makes it easier to just tear stuff apart with out having to worry about getting to work the next morning.

It's been a while but I've finally got some time to get this going. Happy to be back and hopefully keep you guys in the loop in the build and what I've been up to the past 10 years. I've missed talking you guys

Yeah the bugs not going away, life just has a way of stalling stuff. Having 2 kids and working 50+ a week doesn't hurt either.

Wink Re: Project Blackburd - HiFiDelity's 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T build

Since it has been so long and the build has morphed multiple times from what I posted back in 2014 and even 2018, let me get everyone up to date. The general idea I've settled on at this point is a sudo period correct build (so gear from the early/mid to later 2000s)

Headunit is the Sony XAV-AX100 I installed a year or so back. As much as I would have loved a period correct Pioneer I can't give up Android Auto at this point it also helps the Sony is pretty clean looking and has a Volume knob so it does look similar to a mid2000s Eclipse DD ironically.

Comps are still the PPI P.65C3 3 way components. They are a little bit past the mid 2000s time frame but I won't tell if you don't.

Amps are The 2009-2013 Soundstream Reference Amplifiers I have, the REF5.1000 and REF2.360, cause I like big amps and I can not lie.

As for processing I have a Dayton 408, let's hope it's not noisy AF

Subwoofer is the big change. The Soundstream R1-15 is still going in at some point but that's for a future time. As shown above I'm using one of my Nakamichi SP-W104S "Nakabaric" subs.

And cause what early 2000s build would'l be complete without a Capacitor (I'm aware they don't really do much of anything but aesthetic and all) I found a Soundstream 40 farad which also doubles as a Distro block as well as volt and amp meter.
