I saw them on FB and felt kinda bad for the guy.
I'm very glad you're stepping in and doing the job correctly.

I remember seeing that thread. Felt bad for the guy. Kudos to you for taking those on and helping him out.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked. When you ask for a pillar build and for them to be wrapped in matching headliner and the "professional" shop produces this, hands them to you in this condition and basically says you're on your own for wrapping them because it's too difficult for them....yeah. I mean, those pillars were not even ready to be wrapped yet and the shaping was far less than perfect. Plenty of bumps and stuff that would have been seen if they were wrapped in headliner, let alone something like vinyl. Yikes.
Not to mention they look like you glued 2 pieces of pipe to the pillars and said "Done"

They (surprisingly) actually used stacked mdf rings cut to an angle. How they managed to make a cylinder look this lumpy with fiberglass though is puzzling.
This GTO owner is a lot more forgiving than I am. The person who handed me those monstrosities would have been wearing them.
Stacked mdf rings? Why, one ring, some wood dowels, heat gun or CA glue (becoming a real fan of the gel like one), some trunk liner or grill cloth and boom easy peasy.. They could even watch some youtube videos and still come out with something better than that..
