New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
I've been wanting to be able to tune my 6to8 without going out and buying a new windows-based tab. I already have a laptop that I've been using, but it's a PIT to hold while messing with it,and the Android app that Mosconi has is basically useless.
I found an app called Jump Desktop which allows me to remotely control my laptop with my Android tab. So basically, I set the laptop near the DSP, and I use the tablet to control it. So far it works like a charm.
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Just use VNC viewer on the tablet and toss Tight VNC server on the windows machine.
the nice thing is that VNC viewer works the same in all platforms so the learning curve is nil
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Jump Desktop is a VNC program which also has RDP

Oh, and welcome, Big Daddy
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Just threw this on the laptop. Now I don't have to crane my neck to see the laptop or fuck with a usb mouse cable slammed/pinched in the door jamb of the car.
Thanks.

Heh...i forgot about this thread. Glad it worked out for you ;)
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
I just got this going with vnc viewer on the phone, and tight vnc on the laptop. Thanks, guys!
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
both really stable, no issues here.
Except I don't use it for car audio.
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
I use splashtop on my tablet. You have to install the streamer on the device to controlled and as long as both are on the same network, it works like you are in front of the device being controlled.
You can pay to scare the bejesus out of anyone using the PC at home when you are at work, if you wanted to.
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Don't have to pay with tight VNC just use your ISP.ADDY : port and forward that port on your router.... Common VNC port is 5900 so I always pick something different :D
I normally use Linux so I use the built in RDP or just SSH into it.
This is totally OT but if you want to use 2 machines, any platform, 2 monitors and 1 keyboard/mouse then use Synergy... it makes 2 different platforms act like one machine with 2 monitors/extended desktop... you can even copy/paste text between machines... Best thing since pre-sliced bread.

Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Chad's right about TightVNC. I use this at home when I do my klippel testing and don't want to be around the driver while it's spitting out pink noise at an incredibly high SPL. I use my laptop from inside to control and monitor the Klippel software on my test pc. free and easy as pie to use. just download the viewer for the laptop and server for the main.

Oh snap I forgot about this
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Very neat, I'll have to read a little more on this and try out.
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Is there an option to control from an ipad to a windows desktop?
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
I use VNC Viewer on IOS products
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Teamviewer would work great for this as well. Teamviewer is multi-platform (IOS, Windows, Linux, mobile) and just works like a champ. Free for personal use, pay for commercial use. Worth checking out if you're not in love with any of the previously referred programs.
Re: New way to control Mosconi 6to8 with Android tablet
Teamviewer is ungodly clunky compared to straight up VNC.
