Aww shit...
Does this mean CAJ gets to have Klippel tests now?!
Just kidding! I'm really hoping to make it to your meet Erin. I'm planning my fall vacay around it.
BTW, you should make a member intro thread. Not that you need one.

I've had MY OWN klippel for over a year now. ;)
So, anyone who wants to see my tests can view them on my site: http://medleysmusings.com/
I actually quit posting most of my tests on DIYMA a while back because no one seems to give a rip. *shrugs*
That's just the nature of the new DIYMer demographic. I would always peruse your Klippel postings. It was frustrating though cause I can interpret about 10% of the data.
You have no idea how much useful knowledge I have gleaned from your postings Erin! I especially like seeing some of your older posts. That's when I realize you weren't to far from where I am just a few years ago. I don't think I'm as dedicated as you though.

I think Klippel reports are just too technical for the average guy who wants to know which sub hits harder, they don't want to get into the bits of esoteric audio knowledge that some of us like to get into.
learning about drivers, motor design, magnetic properties, material differences, it's all just ways of identifying good value for the money, and the engineering responsible for a good product.
you could have a plain Jane sub like ID made, but take care in the production and go through the quality control, and it'll be hard to beat. And, even if you have all the FEA and Klippel data on file, making use of it is a little difficult if your spec'ed drivers from China come off the boat with somebody's "approximation" of what you ordered.
I tried to make some discussion material from the Klippel reports, and even the FR measurements but translating those into the realm of what sounds better or worse, looked like people were taking offense.
I believe the various types of non-linearity being relevant in a synergistic form would indicate where subjective "better/worse" interpretations, are either valid or just anecdotal, and not able to follow a logically derived 'test pattern'.
you have a lot of brand nut-huggers, so anything you say negative about their favorite brand will be taken with either skepticism or scorn.
At least here we don't have any "approved vendors" (or even worse, vendors/moderators) to go complaining to the staff when somebody says something negative about their product.
