Well, it's been a while since I've made any changes. The version of vBulletin we're using has been out of date for quite some time, and the cPanel that we use on the server side is no longer supported. I'm of the mindset of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but as many of you have noticed, things are starting to go wonky. The SSL certificate expired last week causing people to see a security warning. After going back and fourth with tech support, I'm going to have to update cPanel. Unfortunately, the server we're using doesn't support the newer version of cPanel, so I'm going to have to move the site over to a new one.
In order to accomplish this, I'm going to have to compress and copy the database and associated files, and then transfer them to the new server. In the meantime, I'll have to shut the site down, point the CAJ domain to the new server, and wait for it to propagate on the internet. Propagation could take a few minutes, or a few hours...I have no control over it. It might also require that people clear their site cookies, I don't know.
While I'm at it (since I love torturing myself), I'm going to also upgrade the forum software.
I'm going to do the transition either late Friday or Saturday night, so please bear with me as I try to get things spruced up.
