Hello junkies

Finally got a system in the Z. Despite my love of the hobby, I possess 0 skill when it comes to anything creative. So after months of being turned down by shop after shop in the Raleigh/Durham area because i was providing the electronics. I made the decision to drop it off at The Sound Factory in Knoxville TN. Michael and his crew were willing and excited to hook me up. Only goals were utilize stock locations, leave room for Targa top storage, and everything professional and buttoned up tight.

Equipment :
Source- Android Auto through stock head unit (toslink) and FIIO M11 Pro (coaxial)
NAVTV GM M650- to retain stock unit and optical out
Minidsp 8x12 DL - processing
Soundigital Gan 2000.8
1&2- Dynaudio E110
3&4 Dynaudio E430
5&6 7&8 bridged to Dynaudio MW182
Soundigital EVOX2 1600.1 2ohm
2 Stereo Integrity BM11s dual 2ohm wired to 2 ohms1000006858.jpg

Overall very happy with everything. Gotta couple of bugs to work out and get used to. Have to remember to switch to toslink if listening to the DAP when a call comes in lol The Android auto stopped working. Not sure what's going on there. May have to update the NAVTV maybe??
Mike's tune is fantastic! Everything is front and center. Can't even tell under normal listening that there are subs behind you.

That looks really good J! I'm glad you found someone that would work with you.
I can't wait to hear this next time we can get together.

Thank you Kendal! I'm tickled to death man. I was so sick of riding around with factory gross I mean factory bose haha

That is AWESOME my friend!!! Soon as someone sent me a picture of that subwoofer enclosure I KNEW it had to be yours!!! Beautiful car and install, and excellent choice for your setup there.

Thank you gentlemen!

Since I know most of you guys let me ask about the way they did the tweeters. I posted up on the corvette forum and the only reply to the post is taking a shit on the tweeters. I think they look great, well other than the dimples on the domes.

What is your question?

What is your question?
Does that look "hacked" and "lazy" to y'all? I understand saying aiming is wrong or should've used pods on the pillars or something but not just flat out shitting on my system. Here's the reply :
Looks really nice... week except for that dash tweeter install. Can't believe they hacked it that way.... there's is no reason that they could not mount it from underneath. That was just lazy....
but if your happy, that's all that matters. Is that speaker wire???
oh, and no Jake unless you have it on the hood also...

I've no idea what pic he's asking about the speaker wire? Maybe just more smart assery

This is also the poster that, if you do any research on there or post an audio question, that is known as the "go-to" guy. He's the Corvette forum audio savant if you will. Personally he can eat an entire bag of dicks as far as I'm concerned

I think it looks great, but I would personally prefer to have it covered by a speaker grill or cloth. If they had mounted it from underneath, the tweeter would have bee farther away from the windshield, and created cancellation/comb filtering issues. Depending on the driver size (at what point it beams), rake of the windshield, distance, etc., it can either help create distance to the image, or it can create issues. There's some math behind it, but Mike knows his stuff.

The bottom line is, if it sounds good, then it IS good.

Mike Myers would never let anything leave his shop that could be considered "hacked". I think it looks fine. and like was said if YOU are satisfied YOU the customer are the most important person to please.

Agreed my friends!! I was just blown away by that post. Don't understand why, even if he would of done it differently, there was a need to be a dick about it. Constructive criticism is expected and appreciated, that was not it
